File storage on biscu.com is very simple. Just upload
the file(s) to our servers using our file manager, ftp
server or email the file to us. You can share the file
with one or more sub-accounts with access rights you
specify or you can (optionally) share the file with
the public using its biscu.com URL. Biscu.com offers
free file storage for up to seven days.
File Upload via our File Manager
Sign in to your account and navigate to the folder
you want the file saved to. Click the "Upload files
to the current folder" button on the toolbar to
open the file upload center. The file upload center
allows up to ten files to be uploaded at once. Select
the files from your computer you want to upload using
the form and click the "Start uploading the selected
files" button on the toolbar to start the transfer.
The files will be saved to your account instantly.
File Upload via our FTP Server
Using your FTP client, connect to our FTP server at
ftp.biscu.com:21. Sign in with your biscu.com user name
and password. Send each file to the appropriate folder
using the file upload facility of your client. Binary
transmission is recommended for most files. The files
will be saved to your account instantly. If youre
not sure how to use an FTP site, try using your web
browser to open our FTP server as a URL. Most modern
web browsers will support file upload to FTP servers.
If your web browser does not support FTP uploads you
can also use the "FTP" command line application
which is included in most versions of Microsoft Windows.
This application may be difficult for novice users to
use however.
You can also acquire an FTP client as a free download.
WS_FTP and FileZilla are two excellent FTP clients.
FileZilla is fully functional, open source freeware
and is highly recommended. Download FileZilla at http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/filezilla/FileZilla_2_2_4c_setup.exe?download.
File Upload via E-Mail
Using your E-Mail client, create a new E-Mail message
with your account user name in the subject line and
attach the files you want to upload as attachments.
Send the email to biscu.com. A new folder will be created
for you called "Inbox" if it doesnt
already exist, and the files will be saved there when
our servers receive your E-Mail.
File Storage Capabilities
Evaluation accounts are limited to 10 megabytes of
file storage space. Files can be copied, moved, renamed,
shared, viewed and deleted. Uploading a file which already
exists (has the same name) will overwrite the original
file. Sub accounts can be created so that your main
accounts password does not need to be shared with
other people. Sub accounts have their own password,
have restricted access to shares on the main account
and are administered by the main accounts owner.
Quotas can be imposed on file storage space for sub-accounts.
For example, you can create three sub-accounts which
each have access to 2 megabytes of the main accounts
available space.
