Accessing your Biscu.com Account as a Virtual Drive

A virtual drive is a drive on your computer, such as "F:\" which maps to a virtual data source. It’s possible to create a virtual drive which connects to your account on Biscu.com’s FTP server. This makes file downloads as easy as double-clicking an icon and uploads as easy as saving your work. Think of a virtual drive as a sort of free online hard drive. This article will introduce a shareware tool, called "Team Drive" which maps your Biscu.com online virtual hard drive to any drive letter you specify.

To download Team Drive, log into your Biscu.com account and open the map to "files@biscu.com" this map will contain two folders. Open the folder "Win client map as a drive" and download the file "TDClient_v3.238.exe". Follow the onscreen instructions for installing Team Drive and restart your computer. At this time, we’ll use the trial version of Team Drive but if you’re interested in using this tool, we encourage you to go ahead and purchase the full version.

To configure Team Drive for use with your Biscu.com free virtual drive, right-click the Team Drive icon in the notification tray on the far right end of the task bar and then click "Connect" from the Team Drive popup menu. Click the "Service" button to open the service menu and then click "New Service" to open the "Service Properties" dialog box. On the Service Properties dialog box, click "Advanced" to show the advanced properties. Enter the following values into the appropriate fields:

Service Name: Biscu

Username: your Biscu.com username

Password: your Biscu.com password

Protocol: FTP

Server: ftp.biscu.com

Port: 21

Server Directory: /

Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the Service Properties dialog box to create the new service and close the dialog box. Click the "Options" tab to show the Team Drive options. Uncheck the check box next to "Open explorer window…" and then click the option button labeled "Show on Errors Only" so that we’re not driven insane. Go back to the connection tab by clicking on the "Connect" tab. Click the "Connect" button to the bottom right to connect to your Biscu.com online harddrive.

To open your virtualdrive, double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Double-click the virtual drive called "Biscu on Team Drive". You should now see the contents of your account as a folder on your computer. You can double-click any icon in this virtualdrive to download and open the file. To upload data to your free online hard drive you can both drag and drop files into this folder or save files into this folder.
